HALL FOUNDATION SPONSORS FIVE FABULOUS SUMMER SOIREES!
Thanks to the generousity of the Hall Foundation and our wonderful hosts, The Art Association is delighted to announce five fabulous Soirees for the coming summer! Four will be offered in historic Uptown Harrisburg homes, and one in a more buccolic setting on Doehne Road just off North Progress Avenue. All five Soirees will feature exciting artwork, delectable refreshments, and stunning settings. The Soirees will all be held on Saturday evenings from 5 to 8 PM, with advance reservations @ $45 and payment at the door of $50. The proceeds from the Summer Soirees provide support for AAH education and exhibition programs.
The first Soiree of the season will be hosted by Dave Skerpon and Chris Baldrige on June 16 at their charming home and garden at 2619 North Second Street in Harrisburg. Featured artists will include abstract painter Linda Benton McCloskey, plein air artist Anne Davis, sculptor Todd Fry, and photographer Lydia Panas.
Mark and Sheri Bennington will host the second Soiree on June 30 in their garden and Tudor-style brick home at 2926 North Second Street, showcasing plein air landscapes by Ralph Hocker and Steve Wetzel, contemporary paintings by Kurt Herrman, and photography by Beth Hager.
Andy and Audry Carter will hold their Soiree in their Mid-century Modern home at 2920 Green Street, near Italian Lake, on July 14 with a “Bastille Day” ambiance. Artists will include three recent grads from Pennsylvania College of Art & Design in Lancaster – Karin Wengenroth, Seth Crider & Eddie Berkoski(since Audry is on the PCA&D Board of Trustees), as well as watercolourist Bob McCormick and abstract painter Linda Sommer.
On August 11, Donna and David Schankweiler will invite attendees to enjoy their lovingly-restored light brownstone home at 2921 North Front Street. Artists whose work will be on view will include plein air painters Jonathan Frazier and Julie Riker, abstract painter Ann Benton Yeager, and potters Bethany and Stephen Cincotta, our AAH Clay for Kids instructors.
The non-Uptown Soiree venue is the brick Georgian home of David and Gwen Lehman at 2520 Doehne Road, just outside Harrisburg on a hill with sweeping landscaping. Their artists for their August 18 Soiree will include landscape painters Bill Kocher, Susan Benigni-Landis, Cathy Mabius and Paul Gallo.
To make reservations, visit the AAH website at www.artassocofhbg.com or call 717-236-1432. Those paying with checks or cash receive the special rate of $160 for four reservations – an $180 value!
